What's Benjamin up to?

Well, let's just say he's been busy too.....

He went to Mom and Dad's house for Jenny's wedding last weekend. We went up early on Wednesday and stayed until Sunday. It was a very busy visit.

The Tuesday before we left Ben spiked a 104.1 degree temperature again, so we ran to the doctor's office because I knew I couldn't have him in the car all day the next day without knowing what was going on. His fever broke very quickly and he never looked back after Tuesday night.


While we were at Mom and Dad's Benjamin discovered their pantry that has sliding drawers and cans within his reach. He was stacking them and pretending to drink from them....

I was really excited to see my friend Holly whom I hadn't seen since junior high. (You gotta love social networking sites!) She has a little girl named Payton who is just a few weeks older than Ben. We got together at the Gaylord and they had a great time. Holly is a photographer so she took some amazing photos that she is going to send. In the mean time you'll have to settle for my snapshots!! :o)

And last but not least, this is the hardest thing we, as parents, have been dealing with.... tantrums! This boy knows how to throw one! Apparently I did this as a child as well. My parents called them "red-headed temper tantrums". At least I had an excuse right? Can't I blame mine on my hair color? Let's just say I'm paying for my raising on this one.....

Baby McKenna

So Monday the eighth was Baby Evan's birthday, Wednesday the tenth was my birthday and then Thursday the 11th was Baby McKenna's birthday. Mixed in with those, Eric and Loren (Jason's cousin and his wife) had their sweet little boy, Danial, on the eighth also. Then Sunday the 14th my cousin Aaron and his wife had their little boy, Aaron Brody. Talk about a Birthday week! Watch out world that's a lot of Gemini's to hold!! :o)

So back to McKenna. Laura is one of my best friends/Maid of Honor also, but her and her husband John live in Austin. I'm dying to hold Mckenna, but I'll have to settle for pictures right now. Poor Laura had a really rough labor and delivery, but safely welcomed McKenna Marie Hartnett on Thursday, June 11th. I don't have my own pictures, but you can peek at her on Laura's blog.

Baby Evan

On our way home from Fredericksburg that Sunday one of my best friends/roommates/Maid of Honor, Amy, was headed to the hospital to have her baby. It was such perfect timing. Evan Ray Crisp graced our presence on June 8th at 9lbs. and 7.5oz. (A VERY healthy baby boy!!) Monday evening I went to visit the little guy and his parents of course. He's so perfect and I can't wait to go visit him tomorrow. Evan and Benjamin get to meet tomorrow for the first time!

Fredericksburg Weekend!

Life has been absolutely crazy lately. Great, but crazy! We've been in and out of town three times in less than a month! As I showed in the previous post I went to Jenny's bachelorette weekend in DFW. Then the very next weekend we went on a couples trip with three other couples to Fredericksburg. Nana and Pawpaw were kind enough to keep Benjamin at their house for the weekend so we could get away.

We had never been to Fredericksburg, but I've decided that I want to live there one day. I love it there! We had a ton of fun while we were there. We stayed at The Cameron Inn, which I would highly recommend to anyone. It was VERY nice. We had a lot of food, went shopping and toured some of the vineyards in the area. These vineyards/wineries are absolutely GORGEOUS! The archetecture and breathtaking views are amazing. We actually met one of the owners who was very kind and passionate about his work. It was a great learning experience. I had no idea that much went into the business.

Jenny's Pre-Wedding Celebration

My good friend Jenny is getting married in just two and a half weeks. I have known Jenny since elementary school and continued going to school with her all the way through college at A&M. I'm so excited to be part of her wedding. This past weekend Benjamin and I went to DFW to help celebrate Jenny's upcoming wedding (Well, I guess Ben didn't really help celebrate, so he hung out with his grandparents while I celebrated!). Jenny's bachelorette party started at La Madeline and then ended up at The Glass Cactus in Grapevine. Saturday, Jenny's aunts hosted a Bridal Tea for the bridal party. We had a great time and it was good to meet all the ladies who are party of her special day. Here's a few pictures of the group...

Memorial Day!

We had a great Memorial Day weekend. We just hung out and had a great time. On that Sunday evening we went to a friend's house, but had to wait on strong rain and even hail so that we could head their way. We had lots of food and fun. Of course I took a couple pictures of our main man....

Lucky considers all food in his house to be his, regardless of if there is a child attached to it or not. Therefore, Benjamin felt it necessary to eat the whole cookie at once to prevent sharing with Lucky!

The Zoo Crew

Benjamin had his first zoo experience on May 16th (that was a Saturday). The only reason for my exactness on the date is because I am SO behind on posting! ;o) We went right when the zoo opened and only stayed for two hours. Ben LOVES being outside, so he was right in his element. He didn't have much of a reaction to the animals except for the Kimono Dragon. He kept reaching for him like he wanted to pet him. Great, my kid likes the animal that can literally kill you with his bad breath. Sigh.... boys will be boys I guess.

We got a zoo membership while we were there so we will be going back a lot during the week when it's calmer at the zoo.

Last week my friend Melissa and I took our kids for the first couple hours in the morning. Ben rode the carousel for the first time and absolutely loved it. I'll have to get the pictures from her to share!

Mother's Day 2009

Yes, I'm very behind. Life just happens, ya know?

I had an awesome Mother's Day. We got up and went to breakfast and had a great day. That afternoon Jason played softball, so we went to the fields to watch him play. It was so very hot outside that we ended up going over to Brian and Staci's to seek some cool air because Ben's little cheeks were so red. I knew he had to be burning up!!

That morning we ATTEMPTED to get a good Mother's Day picture like we did last year. Here are all of our attempts and you'll have to cut and paste two or three together to get anything worth framing! :o)
