One Year Stats

I took Benjamin in for his one year check up and he's doing great. He now weighs 23 pounds and 6 ounces and is 30 inches tall. He's a healthy boy! As of his birthday, he has 8 teeth and I think he may be working on getting some more. Ever since Jason and I got back from our trip a month or so ago, we've had a lot of problems with sleep and naps. He just didn't want to do it. But (knock on wood), this week he has been doing much better.... thank goodness! He loves playing with all his toys and LOVES pushing things.... chairs, strollers, grocery carts, toys, wagons, etc, etc. Anything with wheels (and even some things without) he pushes all over the place.

Ben and I will be headed to Kentucky with my mom at the end of the month. I'm really looking forward to taking him to see great grandparents, great aunts, cousins, etc, etc. Plus, I'm looking forward to seeing my family. When you live so far away from everyone, it's really special to get to see them.

Happy Birthday Benjamin!

Mr. Benjamin turned 1 today! I simply cannot believe it has been a year since our eventful delivery. All day I have been reminding Jason of events on this day last year. It just seems like it was just yesterday. I am so thankful for my sweet little guy's health and happiness! I can't wait to see how he continues to change. You know I have pictures, but the desktop is already shutdown, so you can see all the pictures my wonderful friend Amy took for us at: http://picasaweb.google.com/amyelizabeth04. (It's a really good thing she took pictures for us, because I think my camera ended up with about ten pictures from the entire event because we were so busy!! lol) Since I'm being a lazy blogger, you can check out my friends' blogs: Lindsey and Amy.

Ok, so here I am over a week later and I still can't get my pictures to upload. Amy's site has almost all of the pictures I have anyway, so you'll have to peek in on Ben via her picasa website. We had an amazing time at Ben's birthday party. There were lots of friends and family here. Some family even drove in from out of town! How special are we?! The weather was wonderful so most of the kids played outside the entire time they were here. I'm very thankful for the beautiful weather. The big event of Ben eating his birthday cake was not much of a big event. He liked putting his hands in the cake, but wasn't crazy about eating the cake. Actually, he didn't taste the cake at all. He just decided he didn't like it from the get-go. More than likely, the crowd watching him gave him a bit of stagefright, but that's alright. After everyone left, my mom fed him chocolate cake from a fork and he LOVED it, so at least I know he likes chocolate! Phew!

Anyway, thank you everyone for the birthday wishes, gifts and thoughts. We are truly blessed to have so much love!

The First Haircut...

We made it through the first haircut and we all actually had a great time. When we arrived at the place another kid, who was quite a bit older than Ben, was SCREAMING through his entire haircut and beyond. After our Santa Claus experience, I was a bit apprehensive, I was afraid Ben might get some ideas from that kid. Instead, he had an absolutely amazing time. He ate animal crackers, drank milk and watched TV. He sat so still and didn't shed a single tear. It was great. He looks so different, but now it really obvious that I should have had it cut a LONG time ago!! haha

Countdown to the big #1!

We've been so busy. I haven't even uploaded our pictures from mine and Jason's trip out West. I'll get around to that sometime. Someone's very special 1st birthday is a week from tomorrow! I can't believe it. In the mean time, I hope you enjoy a few pictures!

Benjamin is...

WALKING!
Ok, so it might be a bit obvious that I am a very excited and proud momma! lol Yesterday, we had a really long day. Last night Ben and I were playing in the floor. It started by Ben taking one step on his own, then two and then he worked up to five. Now I guess "technically" he's taking steps on his own, but that's walking in this momma's book. He's REALLY cute when he does it because he just absolutely cracks up while he is walking and then he just falls on me like it's our own special game. Needless to say, I don't have video of it , but I have the video in my head! :o)

Ben is 11 months old today. Once again, I cannot believe it. His birthday will be here before we know it; how exciting! He is so much fun right now. I cannot even explain how much fun we have together. He constantly gets Jason and I laughing! It's awesome. He's finally up crawling on all fours. He did it a long time ago, but he's finally resorted to that as his main mode of transportation! He is standing for very long periods of time on his own. He will walk behind his push toys and absolutely cracks up at himself. However, he's not walking on his own just yet, but it could be any day (or not... lol!!) One of his favorite things is riding in his wagon, he doesn't care where; he just loves to ride! As of tonight he has six teeth, but two more should be making their debut any day now. He's such an amazing little boy.... so much fun!
